Privacy policy

Last updated 28 August 2026

This policy explains how we collect and use personal data on the Sectr website (sectr.studio), and the choices you have. It covers this website only — the Sectr desktop and web applications have their own terms and privacy information.

Who we are

Sectr is a product of Ducktail Digital Ltd [company number to be added], registered in England and Wales [registered office address to be added] (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@sectr.studio.

What we collect and why

Waitlist signups

If you join the waitlist we collect your email address. We use it for one purpose: to let you know when Sectr opens up. The lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. Your email is stored with our database provider, Appwrite, and is not shared with anyone else or used for any other marketing without asking you first.

We keep waitlist emails until we have sent the launch notification and any related access invitation, or until you ask us to remove you — whichever comes first. To be removed at any time, email hello@sectr.studio.

Campaign links

When you follow one of our campaign short links (sectr.studio/c/…), we record that the link was clicked: the campaign name, the address of the page that referred you (if your browser sends one), and a coarse device class (mobile, tablet or desktop). We do not record your IP address, your full browser details, or any identifier that could link clicks together or to you. If you then join the waitlist in the same visit, your signup is attributed to that campaign. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which of our campaigns work.

Analytics

With your consent — and only with your consent — we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages visited, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google LLC processes this on our behalf. We have disabled Google Signals and ads personalisation, and we do not use this data for advertising. You can decline or withdraw at any time; see our cookie policy for details, including how to change your choice.

Early-access code

If you enter a valid early-access code, we set a cookie so the download page stays available to you. It contains no personal data.

When you contact us

If you email us (for example at hello@sectr.studio), we hold that correspondence and use it to reply and to run our business. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to serve pages and keep the service secure, as our processor.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires.

International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by safeguards recognised under UK law — the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or an adequacy decision — together with each provider’s data processing terms.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email hello@sectr.studio. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
